As of Jul 6, 2026, the average yearly pay for manager project management in Hawaii is $107,038.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $81,000.00 and $129,900.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is the highest paying project manager?

Senior project managers, especially those in industries like IT, engineering, or construction, tend to have the highest salaries. Project managers with advanced certifications such as PMP and extensive experience in large-scale projects often earn higher compensation, with salaries reaching six figures in some regions and sectors.

How does a Manager of Project Management typically collaborate with cross-functional teams during a project's lifecycle?

A Manager of Project Management plays a central role in coordinating efforts among various departments such as engineering, marketing, finance, and operations throughout a project's lifecycle. They facilitate regular meetings, set clear expectations, and ensure that all stakeholders are aligned with project goals and timelines. Effective communication, conflict resolution, and adaptability are key as the manager navigates differing priorities and resource constraints. This collaborative approach helps ensure successful project delivery and fosters a culture of teamwork and accountability.

Who earns more, PM or PMO?

In general, Project Managers (PMs) tend to earn higher salaries than PMOs (Project Management Officers) because PMs are responsible for leading projects and making strategic decisions, often requiring more experience and certifications like PMP. PMOs typically focus on establishing project management standards and supporting project teams, which may be a lower-level or support role with a different compensation range.

What are the 4 types of project managers?

The four main types of project managers are functional, projectized, matrix, and hybrid. Functional managers work within departments, projectized managers lead entire projects independently, matrix managers balance both functional and project responsibilities, and hybrid combines elements of these approaches. Understanding these types helps in selecting the right management style for specific projects and organizational structures.

What is the difference between Manager Project Management vs Project Coordinator?

AspectManager Project ManagementProject Coordinator
ResponsibilitiesOversees multiple projects, manages teams, and ensures project alignment with business goalsSupports project teams, assists with scheduling, and tracks project progress
Required CredentialsTypically requires a PMP certification, bachelor's degree, and experience in project managementOften requires a bachelor's degree; certifications like CAPM are common but not mandatory

The Manager typically holds more advanced certifications and has greater responsibility for project success.

Can I make 100k as a project manager?

A project manager's salary can reach or exceed $100,000 depending on factors such as industry, experience, certifications like PMP, and geographic location. Senior project managers with extensive experience and in high-demand sectors are more likely to earn six-figure salaries. Entry-level or less experienced project managers typically earn less than $100,000 annually.
