Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Maintenance (DOM) to oversee and manage all aspects of maintenance operations within our FAA Part 145 Repair Station, including aircraft modifications and Part 91 Flight Operations. The ideal candidate will ensure regulatory compliance, safety, and operational efficiency while leading a team of maintenance personnel and coordinating with customers, vendors, and internal flight operations. Additionally, the DOM will be responsible for operating a profitable Maintenance Repair Station (MRO), ensuring Aery’s internal fleet exceeds a 95% reliability rate, attracting and retaining top maintenance technicians, and fostering a high‑performance culture.

What You Will Be Doing Management of Maintenance Operations
  • Oversee the FAA Part 145 Repair Station operations, ensuring compliance with 14 CFR Part 145 regulations and manual system for maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities.
  • Direct and supervise aircraft modification programs, ensuring all modifications meet regulatory, safety, and customer specifications.
  • Ensure Part 91 flight operations maintenance requirements are met, supporting a fleet of aircraft and ensuring they are airworthy for safe operations.
  • Manage and allocate resources for maintenance schedules, ensuring minimal downtime and maximized operational readiness.
  • Operate a profitable MRO, optimizing efficiency, minimizing costs, and driving revenue growth.
Regulatory Compliance & Safety Oversight
  • Ensure all FAA regulations (Part 145, Part 135, Part 91, Part 43) and industry standards (e.g., AS9100, OEM requirements) are complied with.
  • Liaise with FAA inspectors and other regulatory authorities to ensure inspections and audits are conducted in compliance with FAA rules.
  • Lead safety initiatives and programs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, environmental policies, and ensuring a culture of safety across all maintenance activities.
Personnel and Resource Management
  • Oversee and hold accountable a team of maintenance technicians including scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure the technical proficiency and regulatory qualifications of all maintenance staff, providing guidance, support, and ensuring ongoing training and certification.
  • Attract and retain the best and brightest maintenance technicians, building a team of highly skilled professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, emphasizing teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
  • Develop the very best culture across the team to drive a professional, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Develop a labor tracking model and report billable labor at or above 80%.
Fleet Maintenance & Aircraft Modifications
  • Supervise aircraft modifications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, customer needs, and project deadlines.
  • Manage aircraft maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with manufacturer’s recommendations, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives (ADs).
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive maintenance records in compliance with FAA standards.
  • Ensure Aery’s internal fleet exceeds a 95% reliability rate, minimizing operational disruptions.
Customer and Stakeholder Communication
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all maintenance‑related inquiries from senior management, customers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide detailed reports, status updates, and performance metrics to stakeholders on fleet readiness and maintenance performance.
  • Address customer concerns and inquiries regarding aircraft maintenance and modifications.
Flight Operations Support (Part 91)
  • Collaborate with flight operations to ensure timely and efficient aircraft maintenance to minimize flight delays and ensure Fleet Availability at or above 80%.
  • Ensure proper pre‑flight inspections, maintenance scheduling, and post‑flight maintenance for aircraft operated under Part 91.
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures for flight operations, ensuring aircraft are compliant with FAA Part 91 standards.
  • Ensure Aircraft Reliability for Maintenance (Trip on‑time success) at or above 97%.
You Must Have
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in maintaining aircraft with verifiable practical experience as an active aircraft mechanic in a maintenance organization.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory position in a maintenance organization.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Part 145 Repair Station environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and build a consensus in a high‑pressure environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build continuous improvement culture across the operations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, direct, and positively motivate others
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance
  • Drug Free Workplace Drug Testing Program participation
  • Must have a thorough working knowledge and understanding of FARs, aircraft technical bulletins, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, aircraft systems and the ability to communicate this knowledge to the required persons.
  • FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) required, Inspector Authorization (IA) preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • The ability to lift and/or move bulky items more than 50 lbs.
  • Experience and comprehensive knowledge of engineering, aircraft modification and FAA certification / Supplemental Type Certification (STC) processes.
  • Experience with interfacing and maintaining effective relationships with senior level customer personnel.
  • Willingness to travel for audits, inspections, customer visits, or fleet support as required.
  • Flexibility to manage emergencies or unscheduled maintenance activities.
