Job Description

The Operational Excellence Manager is responsible for the development, documentation, and standardization of CRB project delivery processes, driving continuous improvement process initiatives for the Project Operations and Risk (POR) group, and facilitating process change management across regional operations. 

A successful candidate for this position will be a collaborative team player and have a strong drive to deliver high quality outcomes in support of project delivery and risk management. This individual must possess the skills required to successfully assist functional process owners and experts in eliciting and documenting procedures, to develop operational documentation and job aids, and to effectively communicate change to drive adoption of standard processes. The Operational Excellence Manager will have proven ability to handle multiple complex tasks and have project management skills, including the ability to establish and manage priorities. 

Responsibilities  

  • Communicate with the business to identify process needs and pain points. 
  • Coordinate the intake, analysis, prioritization, planning, resourcing, and internal/external communication of POR initiatives. 
  • Employ observation, interviewing, and coaching with process stakeholders to accurately document current and future state processes. 
  • Determine measures for analyzing and improving process performance and lead stakeholders through process improvement cycles. 
  • Create process maps, workflows, relationship maps, process diagrams, and other relevant media to enable process clarity and aid in identification of forms of waste, improvements, and opportunities for technological enablement or automation. 
  • Serve as a mentor to process owners and experts and advise on work procedures to maintain consistent operations between teams. 
  • Scope, lead, and manage process improvement initiatives, ensuring they align with business objectives and standards. 
  • Identify potential impacts of process changes on the business and develop change management plans to proactively mitigate risk. 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or above) in Project Management preferred, and 10+ years of industry experience. 
  • Experience in an AEC, Construction, or Design Firm
  • Experience in process definition, procedure writing, and/or process improvement. 
  • Ability to communicate openly and effectively both verbally and in writing. 
  • Excellent time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 

Additional Qualifications 

  • ASQ Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) preferred. 
  • Proficiency with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping) and software (MS Visio or similar). 
  • Proficiency with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Critical Path Method, etc.) and software (MS Project or similar).
