QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; CFRE preferred
• Minimum of five years of fundraising experience including major gifts and donor stewardship
• Familiarity of key stakeholders in Stark County
• Strong project management and organizational skills along with excellent writing skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passion for the mission and goals of the organization
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and a CRM
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Development is responsible for leading fundraising efforts with a primary focus on major gifts, donor cultivation, stewardship and philanthropic growth. This position dedicates approximately 80% of its time to development activities and 20% to marketing and communications initiatives that support fundraising and organizational awareness. The Director of Development is directly responsible to the Executive Director.
FUNCTIONS
FUNDRAISING
• Develop a robust fundraising plan to achieve the organization's charitable goals
• Build and maintain strong relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, foundations and other potential funding sources
• Identify, cultivate and solicit major donors throughout Stark County and on a regional scope as the Clinic serves 9+ counties with its unique structure and services
• Work closely with Executive Director and Board members to engage in donor cultivation
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date donor management database in Bloomerang
MARKETING
• Develop and implement a simple marketing strategy to drive awareness and family/donor engagement
• Utilizes online marketing platforms to achieve awareness of the organization and online giving
• Create engaging and relevant content for email and print campaigns/newsletters
• Plan and coordinate awareness events utilizing volunteers
OVERALL
• Prepare monthly reports of success and present to Executive Director and Board
• Develop fundraising and marketing budgets effectively to maximize results
• Participates in continuing education
• Provide other tasks as requested by Executive Director
