  • SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
    Able and available to perform all positions including the dryer and in the absence of the operator who normally performs the job. This includes Dryer and Processing positions.
    Operate spray dryer in a safe, sanitary manner. Operations include drying of product, cleaning of dryer and related equipment, and documenting accurate test results while in operation. Cleaning of the dryer includes manual cleaning parts, clean-in-place operations, Master Sanitation, and dry cleaning daily.

  • SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
    Able and available to perform all positions including the dryer and in the absence of the operator who normally performs the job. This includes Dryer and Processing positions.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Effectively start up, shut down, and CIP of dryer and associated equipment.
    • Package finished product into sanitary totes and prepare for warehouse storage.
    • Maintain proper running conditions to meet specifications to produce a quality product.
    • Monitor moisture, fat and scorched particles at a minimum of once per hour and record results on log sheets while operating.
    • Visually inspect inside of the dryer for powder build up and react accordingly to findings. (Inform supervisor of any problems during CIP of equipment)
    • Inspect dryer sifter tailings.
    • Inspect sifter screen, magnet and report to supervisor any concerns.
    • Properly clean exterior of dryer and associated equipment.
    • Perform CIP solution strengths and log on CIP log.
    • Service pumps and valves as needed and/or per preventative maintenance.
    • Aid in the training of new personnel.
    • Report immediately to the foreperson or supervisor of any damage, irregular activity, or unsafe conditions concerning the equipment.
    • Maintain a clean and safe work area. Facility must remain audit ready, always.
    • Follow all company policies and procedures regarding safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
    • Support a company culture of continuous improvement by participating in efficiency and improvement efforts.
    • Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    • Must work in a safe, efficient manner and follow all safety procedures including the use of safety equipment.
    • Must have the ability to troubleshoot small problems and be able to discern when issues may require input from levels of authority within the corporation.

    Education and/or Experience:
    • A High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    • Must possess or be able to obtain a Sampler's Certificate from the State and become an Industry Analyst as defined by the Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO). Must possess or be able to acquire an Industrial Truck Operator License.
