Midwest Regional Sales Manager Role Overview:
As a key member of the Duke Sales Team for our Core Value Stream (K-12, Higher Ed, Business & Industry), this Midwest Regional Sales Manager has responsibility for all sales within a 13-state region. Determined by our network of independent reps, this territory includes: Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Florida. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Sales - Core Value Stream.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Nurturing existing partnerships with key end user markets (K-12, Colleges and Universities, Business & Industry) while driving incremental growth
  • Managing and motivating independent sales representatives and dealer networks in the designated territory, including setting and managing regional sales targets and implementing marketing communications and segmentation
  • Developing and executing sales and marketing programs to introduce new products, and increase share of existing products
  • Managing regional budgets, interpreting financial statements, and consolidating and adjusting regional forecasts
  • Gathering and updating competitor and market insights and contributing to development of go-to-market strategies and priorities
  • Providing strategic input for sales planning, product development, and marketing through cross-functional collaboration with department and senior leadership

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • 5+ years of B2B foodservice equipment sales experience serving the K-12 end user market, with 3+ years of people management experience
  • Experience managing independent sales reps
  • Manager-level, degree preferred but may substitute experience. For future advancement to a Director-level role, a BS degree in a related field is required
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills with high standard of customer service; a team player with a "humble-hungry-smart" mindset

Workplace Environmental Conditions:
  • Remote work but the ideal candidate would reside in the territory with access to a major airport
  • Travel requirement: Frequent overnight domestic travel is required (50-70%) as per business needs
  • Typical office and factory environment, trade shows, and client environments
