Job Title GA for SLI Signature Programs, Trainings, and Elevated Mavericks - Student Involvement - Graduate Assistant Department Student Involvement Essential Functions
The Office of Student Leadership and Involvement (SLI) within the Division of Student Life and Wellbeing is seeking a Graduate Assistant to support the development, implementation, and assessment of signature programs, student training initiatives, and the Elevated Mavericks micro-credentialing program during the 2026-2027 academic year. This position works collaboratively with professional staff to enhance student engagement, leadership development, and co-curricular learning experiences that contribute to student success and sense of belonging. The Graduate Assistant will play a key role in coordinating large-scale programs, facilitating educational trainings, and supporting innovative student development initiatives that align with institutional priorities. This is a 12-month Graduate Assistant position.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of signature programs and events hosted by SLI including cultural programming, recognition celebrations, social groups, and other initiatives
- Support the development and co-facilitation of interpersonal violence prevention education and programming, including Healthy Relationships, Consent 101, and Bystander Intervention training as part of the Nebraska University System's Executive Memorandum 44
- Support coordination of the Elevated Mavericks micro-credentialing program, including program logistics, student engagement, and completion tracking
- Collaborate with campus partners to support programmatic efforts that enhance student involvement, leadership, and co-curricular learning
- Collect and assess program data to evaluate effectiveness and inform continuous improvement
- Assist with marketing and communication efforts to promote programs, trainings, and student opportunities
- Maintain consistent communication with staff regarding program updates, participation, and outcomes
- Contribute to a culture of compliance and welcoming environment that supports the mission of SLI
- Other duties as assigned to support departmental and divisional priorities
Work Schedule 20 hours per week. Work week scheduled around classes and programming. Programming includes occasional evenings, weekends, and university breaks. Additional Duties Required Qualifications
Graduate assistants must be in good academic standing and enrolled in minimum 6 (six) credit hours during the fall and spring semesters. Enrollment in more than 12 credit hours requires approval from both their supervisor and Graduate Dean. Assistantships are not automatically renewable and are contingent upon performance and academic progress.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. Candidates should be able to work collaboratively with individuals of all backgrounds. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is essential. Experience with event coordination, program planning, and facilitating presentations is preferred. Candidates should be professional, detail oriented, proactive, and demonstrate a willingness to learn.

Salary $1708.16/month (plus tuition remission)
