WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Consultant, Asset Management for our Washington DC or Baltimore, MD office. 

The WSP US Advisory practice is dedicated to transforming the business of infrastructure across the transportation, buildings, energy, water, environment, and power sectors. We provide our clients with the full range of strategic planning, organizational development, economic and financial analysis and project development services supported by WSP's engineering expertise in all infrastructure markets.

Our Asset Management Business Advisory service line provides asset lifecycle planning and enterprise transformation services on every level within an organization. Our services are focused around supporting clients to achieve their organization goals and customer service objectives - efficiently, effectively and equitably. We work as trusted advisors to executive leaders through to the maintenance technician - driving organization, process and activity change to realize tangible benefits and improvements to service delivery, cost savings, risk and safety.

At WSP US Advisory, you will join a group of trusted advisors and analysts, delivering business and asset performance improvement solutions to our transit, highways, water, aviation and other sector clients. Our team works nationally with team members located across the country.

Your Impact

You will lead and deliver a range of asset management projects with some of the largest, iconic infrastructure owners and operators in the United States - with a focus on Transit, Highways, Airports, Water, and/or Power asset management.

The work you do will directly impact how our clients deliver their services, providing tangible improvements to performance, risk and cost and support proactive long-term infrastructure planning and state of good repair needs prioritization.

To do this, you will:

  • Pursue, deliver, and lead strategic consulting services including planning, finance, maintenance, technology/data, organization and business process improvements.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to lead implementation of asset management programs and improvement initiatives working with multi-disciplinary teams including engineering, planning, finance, operations and IT.
  • Provide expertise in the development of asset management plans, facility condition assessments, asset performance management, asset lifecycle strategies, asset lifecycle cost analysis, capital needs assessment and prioritization, organizational capabilities, maintenance planning, process mapping and improvement.  Incorporate related strategies including reliability centered maintenance, condition monitoring, digital twins, asset data standards and governance, GIS and/or EAM system enhancement, implementation and/or integration.
  • Contribute to project staffing strategies, mentor early career staff, and support staff retention and engagement and a positive culture.
  • Lead business development activities in coordination with the rest of the team, including identification of new client opportunities, proposal development and marketing to continue growing our business.  Demonstrate client management and engagement skills and support broader WSP offerings and services. 
  • Demonstrate project and task management excellence, follow defined procedures and methods, comply with internal processes and business system requirements and ensure project and deliverable quality standards are adhered to along with internal processes and procedures.
  • Develop solid client relationships with a focus on understanding the needs of our clients and collaborating internally to offer the best solutions.
  • Provide leadership in technical and professional activities, support thought leadership and product development, and mentor junior staff to support development of their technical and soft skills.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Business Administration, Transportation Planning, Operations Research or closely related and applicable discipline.
  • 10+ years of post-education experience performing similar work.
  • Experience working as a consultant, with a successful track record of managing the delivery of complex asset management projects.
  • Experience in strategy, planning, operational or technology related asset management aspects in one or more infrastructure sectors, including transportation, water, energy, municipalities or utilities.
  • Experience developing asset management strategic plans, asset management plans, asset class lifecycle plans, and/or long-term state of good repair planning and financial forecasting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of asset hierarchies, asset data standards, asset definition and data dictionaries and other similar protocols for EAM System implementation.
  • Experience pursuing new business opportunities, developing technical proposals and winning work.
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, writing, and communication skills both in person and remote.
  • High quality standards with an innate attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills including experience with asset performance data, financial data and asset lifecycle cost analysis.
  • Demonstrated understanding of ISO55001 and its implementation within agencies operationally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence.
  • Strong team player who can get things done under competing client priorities and ability to multi-task. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree.
  • Management Consulting, Engineering Consulting or Data Science experience.
  • Proven experience in consulting or a comparable role in an organization where the individual has held a role responsible for delivery of significant asset management projects and deliverables. 
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and visibility through articles, publications, industry research projects and/or conference presentations. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of EAM Systems functionality including Maximo, Hexagon, Cityworks, Trapeze or other systems.
  • IAM Diploma or Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA) certificate.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $119,400 - $179,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
