Senior Associate, Process Manager (Hybrid)

Overview:

The Senior Associate, Process Manager in Bank Operations collaborates with cross-functional process, product, technology, and operations teams to optimize operational efficiency, minimize risk, and drive measurable business results. In this role, you will apply process engineering methodologies and robust data analytics to map, analyze, evaluate, and redesign core banking processes.

We are seeking a dedicated, disciplined, process professional who will excel in a team environment and are highly motivated by process improvements that drive solutions. Success in this role requires strong quantitative and analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to adapt within a dynamic banking environment.

General Responsibilities:

  • Operational Readiness: Quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment, defining operating models for new initiatives and driving readiness decisions

  • Process Mapping & Design: Develop comprehensive, end-to-end process maps, value stream maps, and flow diagrams to document current-state operations and design optimized future-state workflows.

  • Methodology Application: Utilize Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC), Business Process Management (BPM), and Agile frameworks to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, eliminate process variance, and improve customer experience.

  • Transition & Governance: Establish control metrics to monitor process health and partner with operations leaders to seamlessly transition changed processes into production.

  • Data Collection & Trend Analysis: Extract, aggregate, and measure operational data to identify trends, performance gaps, capacity constraints, and operational risks.

  • Data-Driven Problem Solving: Conduct structured root-cause analysis to resolve complex operational breakdowns and support data-backed business cases

  • Cross-Functional Partnering: Represent Bank Operations in change control forums, agile project teams, and enterprise-wide initiatives to assess process impact and advocate for department interests.

  • Risk Mitigation: Focus on early risk identification and gap analysis to implement controls that ensure compliance and operational resilience.

  • Executive Delivery & Training: Synthesize complex data and process changes into clear presentations and business cases for senior leadership. Deliver training to internal stakeholders on modified workflows and tools.

Location: Center 2 (McLean, VA), West Creek 2 (Richmond, VA), 802 Delaware Ave (Wilmington, DE), or Riverwoods 2 (Riverwoods, Illinois) - This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to spend 3 days per week working in the office and the remainder of the week working virtually.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

  • At least 2 years of Process Management experience

  • At least 1 year of Data Analysis experience

  • At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office or G Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, Business Process Management, or Project Management certification

  • At least 3 years of experience in Process or Project Management

  • At least 1 year of experience in Compliance or Risk Management

Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
