      The International Trade Specialist will be responsible for utilizing international trade compliance processes and procedures and cost savings strategies for the benefit of all of America Fujikura Ltd. This is accomplished by working with International Trade management and seeking cooperation from compliance liaisons and other personnel involved with international trade within the Business Units.
      The successful candidate must be focused on producing high quality work, being highly productive and mindful of costs. This person must be comfortable working in a challenging, dynamic, fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
      Responsibilities
      • Maintains daily U.S. import and export compliance processes, controls and procedures.
      • Communicates with compliance liaisons and other personnel involved in international trade throughout the organization
      • Review and analyze all import and export transactions to ensure compliant import and export clearances and timely delivery of shipments
      • Analyze materials, finished goods and equipment to determine appropriate Import and Export Harmonized Schedule codes and Export Classification Control Numbers ("ECCNs")
      • Maintains trade systems with the appropriate trade data (HS codes, ECCNs, etc.)
      • Identifies Customs Partner Government Agency requirements (i.e. TSCA, FCC, FDA, ADD/CVD, etc.) associated with all materials and equipment and other various government regulations and maintains information in trade systems
      • Manages service providers to ensure compliant clearance and timely delivery of import shipments through the import supply chain
      • Reviews item sourcing or bill of material to determine country of origin for products (make and buy) and ensures trade system is updated to flow down to other business systems and available upon customer request
      • Submits Electronic Export Information ("EEI") for export shipment via AESDirect system
      • Audits international purchase orders and sales orders for necessary compliance language and report where non-compliances exist
      • Maintains Free Trade Agreement ("FTA") qualification and certification program
      • Organizes and performs American Automotive Labeling Act ("AALA") analysis required by automotive customers
      • Supports the duty drawback program
      • Reviews and identifies where new cost savings strategies may exist or be attained and implement when appropriate
      • Manages service provider relationships; to include performance audits, entering into and terminating powers of attorney and contracts
      • Assists with periodic review and development of corrective action of issues with trade related service providers.
      • Maintains the international trade compliance intranet site
      • Ensures record keeping requirements are met according to governmental regulations

    Personal Qualities
    • Self-starter - initiative to achieve in the most challenging environments with limited supervision.
    • Team player - comfortable in a cross-functional, multi-cultural environment.
    • Interpersonal skills - well-developed communication skills enabling interaction within an existing team, various business units within the company, as well as external entities such as material suppliers, customs brokers, and freight forwarders.
    • Task oriented - ability to execute a given project, or set of projects, from start to finish in a timely, efficient and detailed manner.
    • Time manager - makes efficient use of time

    Qualifications
    • 3 - 5 years of Importing/Exporting working experience
    • Proficient user of MS Office applications
    • Fluency in Spanish is a plus
    • Customs Brokers License preferred
    • Authorized to work in the US
