Job description

About HYBE America

HYBE America is part of HYBE, a global leader at the intersection of music, entertainment, and technology. We represent some of the world’s most influential artists and continue to expand our creative and cultural impact across the Americas. At HYBE, we believe in the power of music and foster a culture built on Passion, Autonomy, and Trust.

Position Overview

We’re seeking a Business Operations Manager to oversee managerial business and operations reporting for a label under HYBE AMERICA, including management of P&L based on artists and business models, preparing budgets and forecasts, and providing financial decision-making support and insights. The Business Operations Manager will establish business goals for the artist and artist IP-related businesses, and review and analyze budgets, contracts, financial feasibility, and profitability across the label's departments to achieve those goals.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in our Santa Monica office, with in-person collaboration 3 days per week and remote work 2 days per week. Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to the greater Los Angeles area at their own expense prior to their start date — we are not offering relocation assistance for this role, though it may be considered on a case-by-case basis for select candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish short and long-term business plans (monthly, quarterly, yearly, etc.), including setting milestone targets and adhering to deadlines.
  • Create an annual budget for each artist.
  • Review monthly actuals against budget and update the rolling forecast as needed.
  • Analyze the financial performance of label artists and assess the financial feasibility of various business models.
  • Communicate with each department leader to keep project budgets aligned with P&L.
  • Serve as a financial point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project.
  • Review various contracts from a business perspective and analyze their impact on business opportunities.
  • Approach the identification of new business opportunities and projects with creativity and enthusiasm.
  • Assist in executive decision-making through scenario analysis and written reports.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in relevant finance / business operations (any industry).
  • Experience in business/finance management.
  • Ability to analyze and convert large volumes of data into a digestible narrative.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Self-starter, able to lead projects either with a team or independently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge or practical experience in the content/entertainment business.

It’s a bonus if you have

  • MBA or CFA preferred.
  • Experience in business/finance management in the entertainment industry (preferably music and talent management).
  • Ability to work with several levels of an organization in parallel, including ensuring quality implementation.

Don't match every skill listed? Almost nobody does! Think you're a good fit anyway? Please let us know.

Salary Range

The salary range for this job is $90,000 to $135,000. This is a good faith effort at the time of posting. This range is base salary only and does not include benefits and any other compensatory components of the role.

Why Join Us
