Job description

Water is our home. For many years, im‑jaich GmbH & Co. KG has stood for exceptional marinas, maritime experiences, and hospitality in Germany's most beautiful waterfront locations. Behind this success are people who, with passion, dedication, and team spirit, ensure every day that our guests feel welcome.

For our marina in Putbus on the island of Rügen, we are looking for a person who takes responsibility, inspires people and shapes the port operations together with our team.

Your area of responsibility

As harbor master and team leader, you are an organizer, host, manager and team player all at once.

  • You manage the harbor master's office independently, lead the harbor master team and organize the daily harbor operations.
  • You look after our marina with around 400 berths as well as the indoor and outdoor storage areas.
  • You coordinate the winter storage season and the deployment of our 65‑ton travel lifts.
  • You are the first point of contact for our guest and permanent residents and ensure that our guests feel welcome from the very first moment.
  • You work closely with your colleagues from the port, technology and administration.
  • You motivate your team, promote open collaboration, and lead by example.
  • You lend a hand wherever support is needed and keep track of everything even during peak season.
  • Together with your crew, you ensure a safe, well‑maintained and service‑oriented port operation.
You bring that with you

We're not looking for a perfect resume – we're looking for a person who fits in with us.

  • You enjoy working with people and impress with your friendly and open manner.
  • You take responsibility and think in a solution‑oriented way.
  • You are committed, reliable, and like to pitch in yourself.
  • You enjoy leading a team, motivating people and achieving goals together.
  • You possess manual dexterity and technical understanding.
  • You are prepared to take on responsibility even on weekends and holidays.
  • Have at least a Class B driving licence (a truck driving licence is an advantage).
  • Ideally, you have experience in the water sports, port, or boating industry. Relevant training is desirable, but not a requirement – motivation, commitment, and personality are more important to us.
We offer you

With us, you'll become part of a crew that sticks together and stands up for each other.

  • a secure and permanent job in a successful family business.
  • a motivated team with flat hierarchies, short decision‑making processes and an open corporate culture.
  • A lot of personal responsibility and creative freedom.
  • Varied tasks with direct relevance to water and the maritime world.
  • fair and performance‑based remuneration.
  • Surcharges for work on Sundays, public holidays and weekends.
  • modern work equipment and an innovative working environment.
  • a workplace on the beautiful island of Rügen – where others go on holiday.
Want to help us set the course?

If you enjoy being on the water, want to take on responsibility and become part of a dedicated crew, then we look forward to meeting you.
