Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients to evaluate the frequency, intensity, and duration of mood disorder symptoms.
• Collaborate with clients to craft personalized treatment plans tailored to their unique circumstances and aspirations.
• Implement evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to address mood disorders.
• Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families regarding mood disorders, various treatment options, and effective self-care practices.
• Monitor and document client progress meticulously, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations.
• Engage in multidisciplinary treatment planning, collaborating with psychiatrists and other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Stay abreast of current research and advances related to mood disorders to continually enhance therapeutic strategies.
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards by maintaining confidential and accurate client records.
• Participate in regular case consultations and team meetings to foster a culture of learning and shared expertise.
• Advocate for clients’ mental health needs by actively working to reduce stigma and promote understanding within the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse group of clients facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Johnson's Harbor Therapy specifically focuses on marginalized populations, which may include homeless individuals, refugees, and victims of domestic violence. This role will allow you to engage with clients on a deep level, guiding them through their therapeutic journeys and contributing positively to their lives.

Qualifications

• A valid and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• A Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to cultivate trusting relationships with clients.
• Empathetic, nonjudgmental attitude, with a genuine commitment to understanding clients’ experiences and struggles.
• Strong organizational skills and effective time management to handle caseloads efficiently.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in diverse community health settings or with at-risk populations is highly desirable.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems to document client care effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
