Job description

Description:

For more than 60 years, Tyndale has helped readers discover the life-giving truths of God’s Word. Today we’re one of the largest independently owned Christian publishers in the world. Though our business has grown, our mission remains the same: to open God’s Word to as many as possible in language they can relate to and understand.

The Tyndale Books team is looking for a welcoming, responsive, and highly organized Administrative Assistant to provide administrative and operational support for our publishing area. This role helps create a smooth-running, productive, and enjoyable work environment by supporting team coordination, publishing processes, author-related needs, department organization, mailings, reports, and special projects.

This is a meaningful opportunity for someone who enjoys serving others, managing details, and helping a mission-driven team produce products that offer life-transforming Christian messages. The ideal candidate is dependable, relational, organized, flexible, and comfortable supporting multiple people and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

  • Provide general administrative support, including scheduling meetings, purchasing supplies, organizing special mailings, completing expense reports, and supporting department needs.
  • Help maintain organized and functional department spaces, including conference rooms, hallways, and shipping supply areas.
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues across departments, including facilities, customer service, information services, and publishing teams.
  • Coordinate author and product details in corporate systems.
  • Support seasonal New Product Presentation activities for nonfiction and fiction teams.
  • Handle endorsement copy mailings, book orders, mailing addresses, and author local bookstore lists.
  • Support communication between sales, marketing, authors, and publishing teams as needed.
  • Assist the Author Relations team with author visits and events at Tyndale.
  • Support reports, research, communication, copyright registration, contract-copy ordering, inventory-status communication, and other publishing-adjacent administrative tasks.
  • Respond to unsolicited manuscripts as directed.

Skills and Qualifications Needed

  • 2–5 years of experience in an administrative role managing details and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests, prioritize time, and follow through accurately.
  • Friendly, organized, dependable, and process-minded work style.
  • Strong relational skills and a collaborative, service-oriented approach.
  • Ability and desire to learn new systems, processes, and publishing workflows.
  • Publishing industry experience is a plus but not required.
  • Some familiarity with Spanish is a plus but not required.
  • Personal alignment with and adherence to the Bible as God’s Word, and agreement with our Statement of Faith

We want to hear more about you and why you are interested in Tyndale and this role, so we highly recommend including a cover letter.
