We are currently seeking a Technical Project Manager to manage activities within the HV Battery Module team. This role will report to the Sr Manager, Battery Programs and work closely with other Technical Project Managers in the Battery Programs group and battery cell engineering. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

The Role:

- Responsible for the design, development and validation timelines for battery modules

- Develop and maintain the battery module development timeline and resource requirements

- Drive the engineering activities at the battery module level in accordance with the development timeline, including requirements definition, supplier selection, design release, prototyping, engineering testing, process development, DV & PV testing, APQP, etc.

- Drive key decisions (technical, project timing, supplier decisions, change management, etc.) that impact system delivery

- Manage the bill of materials for the battery module, working cross-functionally with design engineers, supply chain & manufacturing to ensure every part is designed, sourced and validated according to the project schedule

- Take ownership and drive resolution of any blockers to successful delivery of the system, including:

o Technical issues during development or series production - work with responsible engineers to define and drive actions to resolve, monitor and report status to management teams

o Supplier issues - monitor and escalate appropriately with supply chain and engineering teams to resolve

o Organizational issues - identify gaps in resources, processes or roles/responsibilities and escalate appropriately with management teams

o Manufacturing issues that require engineering support respond to requests for support and escalate appropriately with manufacturing teams and engineering teams to resolve

- Develop and maintain the battery module roadmap (including variants, product improvements, supplier changes, etc) and impacts on technical specifications, validation testing, manufacturing, cost, etc.

- Work under minimal guidance to identify project criticality and execute necessary tasks.

- Able to travel both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications:

- 5+ years in product design and release, or technical project management

- Bachelors degree in a related engineering field (Masters degree preferred)

- Experience with high voltage battery systems and electric vehicles

- Strong technical understanding of the fundamentals of high voltage battery systems

- Systems approach to engineering product development, including demonstrated ability to bring together teams from different engineering disciplines

- Ability to identify dependencies between components of a systems (System V or MBSE approach).

- Experience with automotive product development and APQP/PPAP process.

- Experience with staged gate milestones and driving to completion.

- Familiarity with release and change management, DV, DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), PV (Production Validation) development, and product launch activities.

- Experience with quality and problem tools (e.g., structured problem-solving methods, 5 WHY, Fishbone diagrams, 8D, DFMEA, etc.)

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work in a high-pace highly complex cross-functional environment.

- Excellent organization and delegation skills with ability to own the product roadmap and schedule with a track record of delivering projects on-time.

- Ability to inspire confidence to the executive members as well as the engineering project teams.

- Ability to quickly comprehend complex problems and effectively facilitate the team to a decision and coordinate the action plan.

- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to drive decisions using data and metrics

- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

- Goal-oriented self-starter and motivator

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
 
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k.
