  • Customer Relationships: Build and own relationships with property management companies, serving as the primary point of contact for major accounts.
  • Bid & Proposal Management: Oversee the bid function - pricing strategy, package proposals, and contract negotiation for project-based and spec-driven appliance packages.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with regional operations, warehousing, and delivery teams to ensure appliance packages are staged and delivered on schedule against construction timelines.
  • Vendor Coordination: Work with manufacturer partners to secure competitive pricing, product availability, and support for multifamily renovations and MRO.
  • Process & Systems: Establish clear rules of engagement between the multifamily channel and regional teams to avoid account overlap or service gaps, and implement systems to track project pipelines, delivery phases, and service issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • 8+ years of experience in appliance, building products, or construction-related distribution, with direct experience in multifamily, builder, or property management sales
  • Proven track record managing bid/spec-driven sales cycles and negotiating with developers, GCs, or property management companies
  • Experience building or scaling a sales channel, ideally across multiple regions or markets
  • Strong financial acumen, including P&L ownership and margin management on project-based business
  • Excellent relationship-management and negotiation skills with enterprise-level accounts
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with regional operations and logistics teams

Preferred

  • Existing relationships with regional multi-family developers and general contractors
  • Experience negotiating manufacturer/vendor programs and allocation for large-volume projects
  • Familiarity with major appliance brands and builder package programs

Core Competencies

  • Relationship management and negotiation
  • Financial and margin acumen
  • Team leadership and talent development
  • Problem-solving under tight construction schedules
  • Cross-functional coordination (sales, purchasing, logistics, installation)
  • Ability to manage a high-volume, multi-project pipeline simultaneously

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Regular travel to builder offices, job sites, and model units; some overnight travel required
  • Ability to walk active construction sites and wear required PPE when on site
  • Combination of office and field-based work

What R&B Distributors Offers
