The candidate is responsible for planning, scheduling, and directing the routine and shutdown maintenance work. The candidate will be pulling and examining data from multiple programs, such as JD Edwards and analyzing the data to minimize downtime and maximize efficiencies. In addition, the person will be assigned various projects in the mill, and other tasks as assigned.
Maintenance Planner responsibilities include the following:
  • Must follow Ahlstrom manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable, to the position's areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper.
  • Manage daily work backlogs and coordinate/schedule daily and shutdown work to maximize team efficiencies.
  • Work closely with other maintenance and also production team members to minimize asset downtime and support the annual operating plan (AOP)
  • Update procedures as well as identify missing ones and develop for common and larger related maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
  • Identify and help maintain and schedule predictive/preventative maintenance for area
  • Be the resident expert on JDE and Excel.
  • Purchase parts, materials and services in a cost effective manner
  • Coordinate with corporate procurement to manage new stores requests, safety stock amounts and obsolescence.
  • Capture parts, man hours and material usage to create accurate Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Be in the rotation for weekend, holiday and outage/start-up coverage.
  • Collect and examine data to drive fact-based decisions.
  • Coordinate and execute various projects throughout the mill
  • Ensure safety planning is built into planning process.
  • Lead scheduled planning and outage meetings in the most effective manner possible and provide required schedules and work order backlogs to assist in facilitating the planning process.
  • Ensure work orders and other planning notes are entered accurately in the appropriate computer systems.
  • Maintain equipment history, parts/materials inventory, drawing and prints, vendor files and other planning systems.
  • Work to build partnerships between maintenance and operations with a focus on improving reliability and machine availability.
  • Assist in training others on work order entry and planning methods.
