Job description

Robert Half is seeking a mid-level IT Functional Analyst to support and enhance SAP FICO across S/4HANA and ECC environments. This role will focus primarily on Accounts Payable while also supporting core FICO processes and integrations with other SAP modules.


The ideal candidate will have hands-on SAP experience in an IT application environment, with the ability to troubleshoot issues, support configuration, gather requirements, and participate in system enhancements and projects. This position will work under the direction of senior SAP resources while taking ownership of day-to-day application support and smaller enhancements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support and enhance SAP FICO functionality, with a primary focus on Accounts Payable.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into SAP functional solutions and configuration changes.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis across SAP FICO processes and integrations.
  • Support SAP AP functionality including invoice processing, payment processing, vendor accounts, payment blocks, and F110.
  • Support integrations between SAP FICO and MM/Procurement, SD, and other business applications.
  • Participate in SAP enhancements, projects, upgrades, testing, deployments, and HyperCare activities.
  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 application support for Finance users.
  • Support month-end and year-end processes by troubleshooting system issues and ensuring timely processing.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate financial processes using SAP functionality and related technologies.
  • Maintain functional documentation, testing materials, and support procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on SAP experience in an IT application support, analysis, configuration, or implementation role.
  • Experience with SAP FICO, particularly Accounts Payable.
  • Experience with SAP AP functionality including payment processing and F110.
  • Working knowledge of GL, AR, and Fixed Assets.
  • Experience troubleshooting SAP application, configuration, integration, and data issues.
  • Experience gathering requirements and supporting SAP enhancements or projects.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and/or ECC.
  • Experience with SAP workflow, invoice automation, electronic payments, or banking interfaces.
  • Experience integrating SAP FICO with MM, SD, or other business applications.
  • Experience with SAP implementations, upgrades, or enhancements.
  • SAP FICO or S/4HANA Finance certification.
