POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Engineer performs routine to complex maintenance and repair work on all mechanical and electrical equipment and systems within the facilities, and accomplishes all functional duties. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Possess and demonstrate appropriate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, electronic, and other skills
  • Ability to develop and execute innovative solutions to engineering problems under the Chief Engineer's direction
  • Responsible for maintenance, repair, and inspection of all machinery, equipment, and all aspects of the physical plant as directed
  • Log, maintain logs, and report the status of various aspects of the physical plant


Other Specific Job Functions:

  • Demonstrate skills appropriate to the task
  • Provide labor and assistance as directed with maintenance and repairs of the interior spaces of the casino
  • Perform general machinery rounds as directed
  • Know emergency duties as required to participate in required drills, to maintain a high state of readiness to respond to a fire
  • Know how to safely operate power tools, hand tools, and test equipment
  • Be capable of maintaining a proper watch in accordance with PlayLV Gaming's policies and procedures, and any governing regulatory bodies
  • Be able to utilize a computer, electrical test equipment, and any electrical and/or electronic equipment for the completion of daily assigned tasks
  • Assist the Chief Engineer as directed, with casino maintenance and repairs
  • Keep the Engineering Department inventories up to date and in neat and orderly condition, including: Stowing parts and supplies, weekly inventory of filters, and monthly inventory of Engineering Department parts and supplies
  • Strictly adhere to all departmental, company, and governmental rules, regulations, and policies with specific attention to safety and environmental concerns
  • Any other duties as assignedย

Requirements


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


Required:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time during shift
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form
  • High school diploma or equivalentย 
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team across departments and levels of management
  • Must be able to work calmly and professionally in stressful situations


Preferred:

  • One year of experience preferred
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have the physical ability to access all areas of the facility; move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects; withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying items weighing at least 50 lbs. without restriction.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure; work indoors and outdoors, as well as being exposed to hot/cold surfaces, steam, and wet floors.
  • Most work tasks are performed indoors; however, there are events where outdoor activities are required. Indoor temperatures are moderate and controlled by internal environmental systems.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and noisy environment.
