The Job At-A-Glance
We are looking to add a Maintenance Assistant who will provide first-class customer service to prospects and residents. This role is responsible for cleaning all vacated units to prepare them for lease and move-in. The Maintenance Assistant will also assist in keeping the property grounds clean by picking up trash, while ensuring all requests are handled promptly and professionally. Consistently maintaining professional quality in workmanship, communication, personal appearance, organization, and reporting is expected.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the property is clean, maintained, and safe for residents, prospects, employees, and visitors at all times, including offices, common areas, stairwells, basements, grounds, exteriors, and more.
  • Identify and address potential situations that could cause liability to the property or management company.
  • Assess the physical condition of properties and recommend improvements to enhance curb appeal, with approval from the Manager.
  • Complete all work orders timely, professionally, and courteously, ensuring thorough clean-up before leaving the unit or finishing each work session.
  • Maintain an organized and safe maintenance shop and storage areas at all times.
  • Ensure all exterior lighting is functional and adequate for community safety; oversee necessary inspections.
  • Set realistic project deadlines and keep the Manager updated on progress.
  • Follow all applicable codes, legal requirements, OSHA standards, and compliance statutes.

  • Minimum of 1 year relevant experience managing building systems in student housing
  • At least 1 year experience with building automation systems and life safety systems
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Entrepreneurial mindset - creative, proactive, and willing to challenge the status quo to better serve residents and the company
