LOCATION: Itasca, Illinois

SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday & Saturday as needed

HOURS: 1st Shift: 6:00AM to 4:15PM 

2nd Shift: 4:45PM to 3:00AM


Mail Handler/Sweeper

The Mail Handler/Sweeper is responsible for efficiently removing mail from the sorting machine and accurately placing it into the designated trays. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to frequently lift trays of mail onto conveyors in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workplace.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Removes mail from the sorting machine and, with a high level of accuracy, places it into the correct trays using a numerical code 

Ensures the machine-bin number matches with rack-tray number when handling mail

Ensures all mail is placed correctly with address facing the front of the tray

Monitors LDU bin display to identify and clear jams as needed 

Removes mail from pockets when they become full

Moves full trays weighing between 20-40 pounds to the conveyor

Transfers mail from large trays into smaller trays as directed by the machine operator

Replaces full trays with empty ones and inserts corresponding tags in tray pockets

Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times

Performs other duties as assigned


 UBICACION: Itasca, Illinois

HORARIO: De lunes a viernes y sabado segun sea necesario.

1er Turno: 6:00 AM a 4:15 PM 

2do Turno: 4:45 PM a 3:00 AM 


El Clasificador de Correo/Sweeper es responsable de retirar eficientement el correo de la maquina clasificadora y colocarlo con precision en las bandejas designadas. Este puesto requiere atencion al detalle, la capacidad de levantar frecuentemente bandejas de correo y colocarlas en los transportadores en un entorno de ritmo rapido, asi como el compromiso de mantener un lugar de trabajo limpio y seguro.


RESPONSABILIDADES PRINCIPALES 

  • Retira el correo de la maquina clasificadora y, con un alto nivel de precision, lo coloca en bandejas correctas utilizando un codigo numerico. 
  • Verifica que el numero del contenedor de la maquina coincida con el numero de la bandeja del estante al manipular el correo
  • Asegura que todo el correo este colocado correctamente con la direccion orientada hacia el frente de la bandeja
  • Supervisa la pantalla del contenedor LDU para identificar y despejar atascos segun sea necesario 
  • Retira el correo de los contenedores cuando estos se llenan
  • Mueve bandejas llenas que pesan entre 20 y 40 libras hacia el transportador
  • Transfiere correo de bandejas grandes a bandejas mas pequenas segun lo indique el operador de la maquina
  • Reemplaza las bandejas llenas por vacias e inserta las etiquetas correspondientes en los compartimentos  de las bandejas
  • Mantiene un entorno de trabajo limpio y seguro en todo momento
  • Realiza otras tareas asignadas



Requirements

 REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in the mailing industry, manufacturing or warehouse environment utilizing conveyor systems or assembly lines preferred

Previous shift work experience in a fast-paced environment required

Ability to identify numbers and accurately match numerical codes

Must be able to frequently lift mail trays weighing up to 40 pounds

Must be able to continuously stand, walk, bend, reach and twist throughout shift

Strong attention to detail and multitasking skills

Reliable attendance and punctuality


 REQUISITOS Y  CALIFICACIONES 

  • Experiencia en la industria de correo, manufactura o almacen utilizando sistemas de transportadores o lineas de ensamblaje (preferida)
  • Experiencia previa en turnos en un entorno de ritmo rapido (requerida)

  • Debe ser capaz de permanecer de pie continuamente, caminar, inclinarse, estirarse y girar durante todo el turno
