Job Responsibilities:

Summary: The shipper/receiver position will receive and verify incoming goods against packing slips/purchase orders, prepare and ship finished product and prepare necessary documents for shipping product.

Job Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned and required.

Safely operate forklift and crane to load and unload trailers and to move material as needed Safely operate shag truck to stage trailers as applicable Ensure equipment is in safe, working order by completing daily inspection following checklist guidelines Immediately report concerns with equipment Complete minor maintenance on equipment as needed Complete documentation and perform cycle counts as necessary to support correct inventory levels Verify product prior to shipment to ensure correct product and quantity is shipped Follow and support Magna Structures LMV and Magna's operating principles Support efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey Support plant safety initiatives and always works within safety guidelines Customer Management Systems & Customer Container Management Systems:

  • Create all shipping documents for all outbound shipments including master packing slips and labels
  • Scan product to customer packing slip and or label swap if required
  • Modify shipping containers on shipping documents for payment
  • Receive inbound materials, perform inspection and label
  • Send EDI transmissions of all shipments
  • Pull receiving advises to confirm acceptance without errors
  • Enter customer container bill of ladings
  • Access customer software systems, contacting customer and carriers as needed to address concerns

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous tractor-trailer experience preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to learn and use multiple customer computer systems
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification within first 30 days
  • Ability to obtain crane certification within first 30 days
  • Attention to detail a must to complete customer paperwork accurately
  • Ability to multi-task continuously with shipping/receiving functions
  • No internal driving suspensions within the last year
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred
