Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Production Expeditor in the Inserting department provides support for Production Supervision by preparing orders using EPIC and Infoshare for all Inserting equipment. They expedite work between various processes and within the department, as well as keeping the machines stocked with mail supplies to help improve productivity and ensure on-time delivery. Performs verification process for Customer specific jobs on Inserting machine computer.

  • Adjusts manufacturing orders and processes under the direction of Supervision by using information obtained from manufacturing specifications and department schedules to improve workflow and ensure accuracy across the department.  Maintain accuracy on ordering inventory.
  • Assists Supervision and Inserter Operators with workflow to/from machines, reversing product when needed, creating copies of manufacturing specifications, and physically gathering necessary materials (actual statements, trays, tray tags, etc.) for the job to prepare for run time. Ensuring only material/components for current job is in the Inserting area.  All other items removed
  • Organizes and prepares the workbook for delivery to the next process. They will verify and account for all non-mailables, pulls, as well as the completion of the job, copy, or batch.
  • Coordinates handling and expediting of non-mailable pieces (samples, specials, invalids, no-mails, foreigns, and damaged pieces) to the next process. They use information obtained from the project's manufacturing specifications to reduce cycle time and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Performs verification process for Customer specific jobs on the Inserting machine computer. Includes opening and closing files, being able to read feeder set up, and other operating functions.
  • Organizes and expedites the finished product from the off-line machines while ensuring proper preparation for the next process. They perform quality checks for the proper labeling of the product and separation of each copy and batch according to the Work Instructions
  • Share your expertise and help train other employees as assigned
  • Carrie out other responsibilities as delegated by management in alignment with evolving business needs
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year, but 3 years preferred, of previous related experience
  • Knowledge of Inserter machine computer functions, including opening and closing files, being able to read feeder setup, and other functions as needed.
  • Previous experience as an Inserter Operator preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Preferred previous data entry and payroll experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Superior prioritizing and organizational abilities.  Must maintain a clean and organized environment. (Follow 5S standards where in place.)
  • Focused attention to details.  Must maintain accuracy with ordering inventory levels, stocking levels at stations, and ensuring work is staged with minimal wait times as per standard.
  • Previous office experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs, 4-6 hours
  • Walking/standing, 6-7 hours
  • Bending/stooping, 2-3 hours

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $21.21 - $28.65 / hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
