This role represents the opportunity to take on an important leadership position with an innovative high tech industrial engineering and manufacturing company.  Automation Hydraulics designs and manufacturers innovative hydraulic equipment and machinery.  We utilize the latest technology and our own proprietary controls and sensors to rapidly deliver unique and affordable solutions for transportation, aerospace, and agriculture industries.

Job role:

This position will have a high level of autonomy and responsibility.  As the CNC Machine Shop Lead, you will be responsible for setting up and operating our new DMG Mori NHX5500, with a five pallet RPP (arrives in October).  We purchased this machine to build custom hydraulic manifolds for our own products and for custom applications.  We will also be machining precision components and other complex parts.  This position will be responsible for establishing our machining processes and practices to deliver top quality products and establishing our initial work flow in the machine shop.  You will also be responsible for building the machine shop team and training other employees and establishing initial maintenance and safety programs.

The goal is to ensure our manufacturing process meets customer requirements and delivers exceptional quality product on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate Machine Shop
  • Train and supervise operators and technicians
  • Setup complex jobs and design workholding and fixtures
  • Establish and maintain a preventative maintenance program
  • Establish and maintain a safety program for the machine shop
  • Manage tooling inventory
  • Supplies management and procurement request 
  • Quality control and processes for machine shop
  • Estimate costs 
  • Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel (quality inspectors, workers etc.)
  • Determine amount of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials etc.)
  • Ensure output meets quality standards
  • Enforce health and safety precautions
  • Identify training needs.
  • Supervise and motivate a team of workers;
  • Report to upper management


Requirements:

  • Attention to detail to ensure high levels of quality;
  • Extensive machining experience (4 axis horizontal)
  • Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
  • Excellent organizational and leaderships skills
  • Leadership experience at a professional manufacturing company
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP software
  • BSc/Ba in business administration or relevant field is preferred
  • Preferred quality systems experience
  • Preferred LEAN manufacturing experience
