As part of our molding department, you will help produce precision parts such as small seals for pumps using advanced thermoset materials in a high-volume, low-mix environment. Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain compression injection molding machines, ensuring proper temperatures, cycle times, and vacuum units are set for optimal performance.
  • Assist with the removal and installation of molds from presses, and load parts into appropriate deburring machines.
  • Monitor machine operation and inspect parts for defects or malfunctions, reporting issues to the Molding Set-Up Operator.
  • Keep molds clean and vents open by performing regular cleaning, including hourly fiber brushing of molds.
  • Load and operate deburring equipment such as Wheelabrator, tumbler, and degater to achieve specified part finishes.
  • Carefully perform uniform cleaning to ensure proper operation of molding equipment and prevent damage to parts.
  • Adjust abrasive and cycling times on deburring equipment as needed to meet cleaning requirements.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in molding production is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of machine shop operations, which can be acquired through short-term job training and experience.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow safety and quality procedures.
  • Willingness to work 3rd shift as required.
