Description:

We are seeking a hands-on Machine Shop Manager to lead CNC and manual machining operations. This role is responsible for driving production performance, ensuring quality, managing schedules, and leading a skilled team in a fast-paced, high-mix environment.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily machine shop operations (CNC & manual)
  • Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work to meet delivery, quality, and cost goals
  • Develop production schedules and optimize workflow
  • Establish machining processes, routings, and labor standards
  • Oversee materials, tooling, and subcontracted processes
  • Support quoting, RFQs, and purchasing activities
  • Lead machining projects from kickoff through completion
  • Serve as a technical expert and troubleshoot machining issues
  • Train and mentor employees on equipment and processes
  • Drive 5S and ensure compliance with safety and ISO 9001 standards

Qualifications

  • 7โ€“10+ years of machining experience with leadership responsibility
  • Extensive CNC experience (Vertical & Turning Centers required; Horizontal preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, G-code, tooling, and setup
  • Experience with FANUC controls (Okuma a plus)
  • CAM programming experience (Mastercam preferred)
  • Experience in low-volume, high-mix manufacturing
  • Lean manufacturing and process improvement experience
