Job description

The Role
As a Shop Manager at AMS, you're the hands-on operational leader behind our Wisconsin shop. Out of our Mount Pleasant, WI facility, reporting to the Project Executive, you'll oversee daily shop operations, managing the receipt, storage, maintenance, and distribution of tools, equipment, and materials while partnering closely with project managers, field teams, and logistics personnel to ensure efficient operations and a safe, clean, and well-maintained facility.
You'll oversee receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations, stage tools and materials for daily jobsite deliveries, and coordinate with freight carriers to package and ship outbound loads. The role also includes managing preventive maintenance and repair programs for tools, specialty equipment, and safety gear, performing functional testing to ensure readiness and compliance, and coordinating with administrative staff to track costs, repairs, and inventory records. What You'll Own
  • Oversee all receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety standards throughout the shop.
  • Track and maintain accurate records of all inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Stage tools, materials, and equipment for daily jobsite deliveries.
  • Package shipments, generate labels, and coordinate with appropriate freight carriers.
  • Unload deliveries in a timely and safe manner and build and maintain positive working relationships with vendors and delivery personnel.
  • Ensure proper and safe use of warehouse tools and equipment.
  • Manage preventive maintenance and repair programs for tools, specialty equipment, and safety gear.
  • Coordinate with administrative staff to track costs, repairs, and inventory records.
  • Perform functional testing of specialty and power tools to ensure readiness and compliance.

What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with construction tools and equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction tool operations, maintenance, and safety practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.
  • Additional technical training or certification..
  • Previous warehouse or shop management experience.
