Job description

Machine Operator sets up and operates production machines in accordance with established procedures, guidelines and customer requirements for each individual product.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
ยท May be responsible for the following machines and / or work areas:
o Flow Wrapper
o Guillotine
o Mixing Operator
o Batching Operator
o Ball Former
o Enrober Operator
o Bag Sealer / Printing
o Sorting Operator
o Caddy Packing Operator
ยท Conducts required pre-op inspections to ensure equipment and area is ready to operate to start of shift
ยท Responsible to operate machines or work process according to guidelines, standards, and established policies
ยท Assists others on the line or packing crew where needed
ยท Responsible for the cleaning of machines or work area per the Sanitation Program requirements
ยท Responsible for controlling and following the Allergen Program ensuring No-Cross Contamination occurs during shift
ยท Responsible for communicating any mechanical/electrical issues to supervisor immediately
ยท Responsible for following all Food Safety guidelines set by the FDA and all other certifying authorities at all times and contributing to the plant's Food Safety Culture
ยท Responsible for documentation of lot numbers, weight checks, and but not limited to other assigned paperwork that is required per the quality department and/or production manager
ยท Responsible for returning all completed documentation at the end of the workday and/or shift to the Quality Department
ยท Responsible for following ALL Plant Safety Rules and OSHA Rules: understand and follow plant safety rules including/but not limited to safe lifting practices, safety on machine operations, Lock Out / Tag Out, etc.
ยท Other duties as assigned
Education, Work Experience, Skill Requirements & Certifications:
1. Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent
2. Minimum Experience required:
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience as a Machine Operator in the food industry preferred
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) preferred
3. Skills Required:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to read, speak and write in English
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) plant safety and OSHA requirements
  • Proven success with working in a team environment

Additional Information ยท Exposure to food allergens, wheat, nuts, coconut, soy products ยท May work additional overtime including weekends Salary: $16.00 to start (plus shift differential if applicable).
