Job Title: Production Machine Operator

Job Description

The Operator I is an entry-level role focused on developing skills necessary for operating and maintaining production operation. Under the guidance of senior operators, this position involves assisting with setup, monitoring production, conducting routine quality checks, and maintaining a safe and organized workspace. The role builds a strong foundation in press operations while supporting the team to achieve production and quality goals.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist with setting up flexographic printing presses, including loading substrates, inks, and other materials as directed by senior operators.
  • Monitor press operation during production runs to maintain consistent quality and report any issues to the lead operator or supervisor.
  • Perform basic quality checks (registration, color, and print clarity) using established procedures and tools to ensure optimal quality.
  • Support the press crew in keeping production schedules by following instructions and adjusting to workflow needs.
  • Keep the press area clean and organized, including proper handling and storage of inks, plates, and substrates.
  • Participate in training to learn press functions, assist with running the press, perform basic maintenance, and develop troubleshooting skills.
  • Communicate effectively with press assistants, operators, and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and quick resolution of issues.
  • Record basic production data, such as counts, downtime, and materials used, as instructed.
