Job description

Position Description: Join the Safetyville team to reduce injuries and save lives by providing engaging, educational experiences for children and community members in our unique, tiny village. As an on-call Program staff, you will lead field trips and events for kids of all ages empowering and inspiring them to make positive choices for their health and safety.
As the front lines of our community education department, you will have the opportunity to build positive relationships with Safetyvilles visitors, partners, and supporters, and suggest improvements to Safetyville that could enhance our programs.
Safetyville is a Sacramento-based, community education program of Safety Center Incorporated, a nonprofit organization founded in 1934. We accomplish our mission of reducing injuries and saving lives by promoting lifelong safety and health through a variety of community and professional programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provide support for Safetyville events including Bike Nights, Winter Glow, Halloween Haunts, and Family Day.
Lead outreach events at schools and in the community to promote safe behaviors and raise awareness of Safetyville as a community resource.
Create amazing real-time experiences for our community at Safetyville by performing opening and closing duties, ensuring all interactive exhibits are in working condition, preparing materials as needed, answering community inquiries through phone calls and emails, and assisting with creating interactive programs to promote health and safety.
Create a positive, professional relationship with supporters, customers, vendors, and others involved in Community and Safetyville programs and build long-term client loyalty
Contribute to team efforts to grow the department
Demonstrate commitment to the mission of instilling safety values in children and reinforcing safe teen decision-making
Help to create a positive learning environment for clients of all ages
Ability to get along and work effectively with others
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic office equipment should include Internet and email, and telephone.
