Job description

Position Summary

The Digital Marketing Assistant supports the Digital Experience team with the day-to-day upkeep of CJ Foodville's digital guest experience — the mobile app, website, loyalty program, local business listings, and third-party delivery platforms. This is an entry-level role designed for someone early in their career who wants hands-on exposure to digital marketing, loyalty, and restaurant technology.

Working under the direction of the Digital Program Manager and the Jr. Analyst, Loyalty & Marketing, the Assistant helps set up and test campaigns, keeps digital content accurate, gathers data for reports, and flags issues to the team. Work is assigned and reviewed by the team, with training provided. We're looking for someone organized, curious, and detail-oriented — prior full-time experience is not required.

THIS POSITION IS NOT A GRAPHICS, SOCIAL MEDIA, OR UI/UX ROLE. THIS POSITION IS IN PERSON (5) DAYS A WEEK AT OUR BUENA PARK, CA (WEST) CAMPUS AND WE DO NOT OFFER REOLCATION AT THIS TIME.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to customer feedback, app reviews, and support inquiries to ensure timely issue resolution.

• Assist with the daily upkeep of the mobile app, website, loyalty platform, and third-party delivery channels.

• Analyze customer, sales, and app performance data using Excel, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and advanced formulas, to identify trends and provide actionable business insights.

• Support new store onboarding activities, including platform setup, testing, and launch readiness verification

• Update and maintain digital content — menus, pricing, product descriptions, images, and store information, web pages.

• Assist with routine audits to confirm content and pricing match across App, Web, Loyalty, and Third-Party Delivery.

• Identify, document, and escalate customer-facing digital issues to the appropriate team member.

• Support guest experience improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve digital usability, content accuracy, and operational efficiency.

• Help keep local business listings and website location information accurate and assist with SEO-related updates requested by the team or agency partners.

Key Tasks

1. App Customer Experience Support

Support internal teams, franchise locations, and external customer service by investigating app-related issues, coordinating resolutions, communicating updates, and helping ensure seamless customer experience.

2. Content Accuracy & Upkeep

Keep menu content, pricing, product information, and store details current and consistent across all customer-facing digital channels.

3. Testing, Listings & Reporting

Run routine platform testing, help audit local business listings, document issues clearly, and pull the data the team uses for weekly and monthly reporting.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Information Systems, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience. One to two years of professional experience. Internships, co-ops, campus work, freelance projects, and relevant coursework count toward this requirement. We do not expect candidates to have held a full-time role in digital marketing before — but strong and relevant internship and/or work experience is mandatory for this position.

1. Agency Experience (Highly Preferred)

Experience working within a digital marketing, CRM, technology, or advertising agency environment supporting multiple projects, clients, and deadlines.

2. Restaurant, QSR, Retail, or eCommerce Experience

Exposure to digital ordering systems, loyalty programs, point-of-sale (POS) environments, guest engagement programs, or omnichannel customer experiences.

3. Digital Marketing & Technology Platform Experience

Experience using content management systems (CMS), CRM platforms, loyalty platforms, digital marketing tools, website platforms, or campaign management systems.

Skills

• Strong attention to detail and organizational habits and comfortable juggling several small tasks and deadlines at once. Clear written and verbal communication.

• Backend experience with third-party delivery platforms such as DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub a plus; backend experience managing POS systems a plus.

• Web coding experience with HTML and CSS is a huge plus, along with an understanding of digital marketing fundamentals.

• Comfortable working with data and spreadsheets with exposure to Data Science Formulas (V-Lookup, Pivot Tables).

• Fluency with Microsoft 365 Working Environment.

• Collaborative, coachable, and willing to ask questions.

Familiarity with any content management, loyalty, email, or campaign platform.
