Job description

Job Summary:
The Solutions Engineer will act as a trusted technical advisor to prospective clients and a strategic partner to our sales team. They will be responsible for translating business challenges into scalable technical solutions using our industry-leading X.TMS platform. Working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Product, Solutions, Analytics, and Implementation. You will help shape, communicate, and deliver value-driven logistics technology solutions that meet client-specific needs and drive business results.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the sales team to plan, prepare, and execute strategic deals throughout complex sales cycles, including Discovery Calls, Demonstrations, and Proposals
  • Translate client business challenges into scalable technical solutions using the X.TMS platform, aligning core product capabilities to client-specific needs
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on Dynamic Logistix (DLX) technology capabilities and service offerings, providing critical support to the sales team throughout the buying process
  • Communicate a clear and compelling DLX value proposition to prospective clients and external stakeholders
  • Disseminate client requirements and key information to internal stakeholders - including Sales, Solutions, Analytics, and Implementation - throughout the sales and onboarding process
  • Effectively communicate client requirements to the Solutions team to ensure a successful implementation build
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our X.TMS platform and all core DLX operational functions and service offerings
  • Work directly with the Analytics team to uncover key opportunities within client historical datasets
  • Leverage ROI tools to help clients assess and quantify operational savings and business impact
  • Assist internal stakeholders in the evaluation and assessment of new technology investments
  • Apply creative problem-solving to enhance and optimize client system ecosystems
  • Build, distribute, and maintain training materials on DLX technology offerings for both the sales team and external clients
  • Monitor and communicate key market trends within the logistics industry and relevant customer demographic markets
  • Maintain a clear understanding of DLX's strategic positioning and competitive advantages in the marketplace
  • Identify, track, and report on short- and long-term initiative progress, collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop and execute courses of action
  • Maintain a high level of industry expertise by attending relevant conferences, workshops, and educational sessions
  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex topics in an easily digestible format
  • Possess highly developed communication skills to quickly develop rapport with clients
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to build trust with clients and internal teams quickly.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, solution-oriented environment.
  • Skilled in data analysis, problem-solving, and value-based solution development.
  • Experience preparing and delivering client-facing presentations and product demos.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in a Solutions Engineering, Pre-Sales, Sales Engineering, or similar role, ideally within logistics, supply chain, or SaaS environments.
  • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) or logistics software platforms preferred.
  • Familiarity with ROI analysis and interpreting operational data to support solution recommendations is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead
  • Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting
  • Ability to continuously operate a personal computer for extended periods of time (4 or more hours)
  • Mental acuity sufficient to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% for client meetings and industry events
