Purpose

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing freight claims, coordinating domestic shipments across all transportation modes, and enhancing customer service performance through continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.

Job Description (Duties and Responsibilities)

  • Assist the logistics team in all aspects of domestic logistics operations
  • Manage freight claims: initial filing, document collection, and supporting recovery efforts
  • Coordinate with transportation providers to ensure timely and efficient shipment movement
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver logistics support and drive operational efficiency
  • Respond to inquiries from customers and personnel or direct them to appropriate channels
  • Prepare Bill of Ladings and shipping paperwork for standard and expedited shipments
  • Provide customer support by managing inbox for transit damage, loss, and material issues
  • Organize and maintain shipping documentation and records
  • Track and trace shipments to prevent late pickups and deliveries
  • Follow up with transportation providers on missed pickups or deliveries
  • Investigate and resolve issues to ensure customer requirements are satisfied.
  • Work directly with customers, sales, and order department to resolve discrepancies
  • Play a key role in managing KPIs and implementing solutions to improve customer service and the flow of material
  • Take on additional duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelors degree with a minimum of two years' experience working in logistics (Shipping, Warehousing, or Manufacturing) OR an associate's degree with four years' experience working in logistics.
  • An uncompromising commitment to quality work and customer service is imperative
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to accept responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy in a high-volume environment
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize work to meet deadlines, and daily problem-solving
  • Capability to cross-train and provide clear instructions to department personnel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and sound decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive)
  • Working knowledge of trucking equipment used in logistics
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm (occasional Saturday mornings remotely)

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with ERP, TMS, or WMS systems (SAP preferred)* Hazmat Training and Certification for IATA, IMDG and DOT
