Role Summary

The STRATEGIC SOURCING ANALYST – LOGISTICS & TRANSPORTATION supports the execution and continuous improvement of logistics procurement across transportation and warehousing categories – primarily within North America (US and Canada). This role strengthens analytical rigor, sourcing execution, and operational governance within the logistics procurement function. The ANALYST owns RFP and eAuction execution, metrics aggregation, payables issue resolution, and supplier onboarding, while serving as a key business partner to internal stakeholders. The role enables scalable sourcing operations, provides actionable insights to sourcing leadership, and builds a strong foundation for future category and sourcing leadership roles.

Job Description (Duties and Responsibilities)
  • Aggregate, analyze, and report logistics procurement metrics including freight and warehousing spend, carrier performance, RFP throughput, and compliance.
  • Support the maintenance of dashboards and recurring reports (monthly, quarterly, ad hoc).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for freight payables issue resolution in coordination with Finance, Accounts Payable, carriers, and third-party freight audit providers.
  • Investigate rate discrepancies, accessorial disputes, and invoice exceptions and track root causes and trends.
  • Report on invoice accuracy, audit recoveries, and process gaps.
  • Own logistics supplier and carrier onboarding workflows including Ariba setup, ERP and TMS coordination, and freight audit system configuration.
  • Ensure compliant, accurate, and timely supplier activation across systems.
  • Maintain onboarding documentation, controls, and service level expectations.
  • Act as a business partner to logistics, warehousing, supply chain, and finance stakeholders to understand needs and sourcing opportunities.
  • Support category strategy development through data analysis, scenario modeling, and project pipeline tracking.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement, automation, and digital enablement initiatives within logistics procurement.
Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, logistics, supply chain analytics, or related roles in a global manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple workflows and collaborate across functions.
Preferred Attributes
  • APICS certification – CSCP, CLTD, PMP, CPIM a plus
  • Exposure to RFPs, RFQs, or eAuctions.
  • Experience with Ariba, SAP, TMS platforms, or freight audit providers.
  • Familiarity with analytics and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Smartsheet.
  • Understanding of logistics cost drivers, carrier pricing structures, and freight audit processes.
  • Experience with global TMS platforms and logistics analytics tools.
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on execution ability.
  • Experience in digital transformation or automation in logistics.
