Sr. Inbound Logistics Specialist
The primary responsibilities of the Senior Logistics Specialist, Inbound are to execute and optimize the flow of freight to Kontoor Brands' distribution network through medium to long term supply chain processes and methods, while influencing supplier decisions and assessing logistics cost. They also must develop and implement emergency concepts for a highly complex and time driven supply chain to meet or exceed our operations team delivery expectations, while continually communicating the order status either directly or through order status report information. The incumbent will be accountable to hold carriers and logistics providers responsible to meet or exceed all inbound lead time requirements in a cost effective way through preparation and presentation of KPI's and QBR's-driving for performance excellence or improvements as necessary.
Responsibilities:
  • Is responsible for the efficient flow of inbound freight from departed origin to distribution network. You will be accountable to develop new or optimizing existing methods of supply, including emergency strategies, by using corporate standard concepts
  • Assures the logistics supply chain, including the emergency strategies, support the complexity of Kontoor Brands with associated delivery restrictions and changes, by developing and implementing complex strategies.
  • Proactively monitor shipments so as to be able to anticipate issues and deter before escalation.
  • Compile background information pertaining to issues, create service issue plan work for final resolution. Including mis-ships, chargebacks, cargo condition.
  • Initiates, investigates and develops medium to long term planning strategies influencing supplier selection as well as initiates and implements process improvements by being innovative and creative.
  • Ensure correct carriers are used in accordance with routing and allocation guides, minimize dwell time at various stages of the supply chain, maintain and build relationships with said carriers.
  • Maintain key logistics reporting systems.
  • Performs quantitative and qualitative evaluations, considering impact to logistics costs and structure. Investigates supply methods including (but not limited to) transportation, packaging, source of supply, and material flow for new or existing suppliers as well as new supplier selection process.
  • Maintain key logistics reporting systems.
  • Leads cross-functional project teams, represents all Logistics departments / strategies in Plant core teams, breakout teams and other special tasks associated with projects.
  • Communicate shipment status to various stakeholders on a regular cadence.
  • Coordinates all required activities regarding Supply Concept development, maintenance and reviews with suppliers, customers and other departments and ensures positive interaction.
  • Work closely with our distribution centers to ensure smooth process flow for freight arrival and prioritization of hot load arrivals.
  • Support on-going documentation of all logistics procedures including SOP's, onboarding documentation, etc.
  • Participate in peer training within internal Logistics team along with education to outside groups of all logistics processes and procedures.
  • Develops regular status reports and indicators to measure assigned work activity.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain or Logistics preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in Logistics or Supply Chain, preferably with exposure to international logistics, transportation management, logistics procurement, and logistics planning.
  • Advanced logistics skills (i.e. ability to develop mid to long term strategies for the logistics supply chain along with methods and standards, analytical thinking skills, and ability to develop and execute emergency concepts with limited supervision.
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Office applications, advanced Excel skills required.
  • Project management experience and proven project leadership skills.
