How you create impact
The LCL Development Manager leads all commercial and strategic initiatives for the U.S. LCL product, driving national growth, profitable volume expansion, and competitive market positioning. This role develops new business across Global, National, and Field Sales channels while guiding the National Pricing Team on effective LCL RFQ pricing strategies. The position also partners closely with leadership to support and execute the national LCL product strategy, ensuring alignment, consistency, and long-term success across the U.S. market.
  • Drive the overall national development strategy, monitoring the GP and volume improvements.
  • Close cooperation with all product developers and sales colleagues on global and country levels as well as direct customer interaction
  • Responsible to liaison with GA, NA, BU Sales and CCL counterparts to support new LCL opportunities
  • Close collaboration with the Global SeaTender Team to guide with pricing strategy.
  • Review and assess the RFQ requirements to insure timely completion of bids / RFQ for pre-defined opportunities
  • Joint Sales Calls in order to introduce product specific capabilities, improve communications, provide technical knowledge and consult client on transportation needs with tailor made solutions
  • Attend QBR of selected clients as well as Overseas business trips - focused on networking, opportunity specific sales calls and product development
  • Participate in customer related projects like volume consolidation possibilities
  • Lead the development and delivery of sales proposal and product/service presentations
  • Responsible to create and update sales material for internal and external use
  • Support on gaining new customers in collaboration with all members of US LCL Management Team to help define account strategies to retain or expand business share
  • Identify additional income streams and opportunities to enhance the LCL product, e.g. support the development of new products, SACO's etc to continuously enhance our service portfolio
  • Develop and implement innovative value add services to provide Kuehne + Nagel with competitive advantage

What we would like you to bring
  • 5+ years of LCL freight forwarding experience with strong seafreight and business development knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferredLeadership experience within an international or global environment
  • Strong sales background with the ability to turn strategy into actionable business development plans
  • Solid decision-making skills with a track record of meeting targets
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Positive, cross-cultural mindset with the ability to work collaboratively in diverse environments
