Professionals in LCL logistics often face challenges related to cargo consolidation, tight shipping schedules, and managing multiple clients' shipments within a single container. Coordinating the timely arrival and loading of various consignments requires strong organizational and communication skills. Additionally, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with international shipping regulations is crucial. To address these challenges, teams typically leverage advanced logistics software and maintain close communication with freight forwarders, carriers, and clients to streamline operations and minimize delays.

What are LCL logistics?

LCL logistics, or Less-than-Container Load logistics, refers to the process of shipping goods that do not fill an entire shipping container. In LCL shipping, multiple shipments from different customers are consolidated into a single container to optimize space and reduce costs. This service is ideal for businesses with smaller cargo volumes that don't require a full container. LCL logistics providers handle the consolidation, transportation, and deconsolidation of these shipments, ensuring efficient and secure delivery.

We believe our unique presence in Puerto Rico, combined with our mission to connect businesses efficiently, provides significant value to our customers and a strong platform for professional growth.

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Account Executive to join our Eagle Logistics team in San Juan. This role is ideal for someone with experience selling transportation and logistics services-including domestic, international, and less-than-container load (LCL) shipments.
The successful candidate will have the autonomy to build and grow a sales territory within Puerto Rico. You will be empowered to develop your own sales strategy, identify opportunities, and meet measurable revenue goals. Our environment encourages self-directed learning, innovation, and professional development.
As an Account Executive, your main focus will be developing new business, generating leads, cold calling, and building strong relationships with potential customers. Your efforts will directly contribute to expanding Eagle Logistics' reach and supporting our mission to provide best-in-class logistics solutions for the Puerto Rico market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue potential customers and key contacts to develop your 3PL and logistics market, developing territory plans and revenue targets.
  • Make cold calls and schedule face-to-face sales meetings weekly, while continuously growing your prospecting pipeline.
  • Set appointments and prepare for sales presentations that clearly demonstrate value and meet customer needs.
  • Research and develop new client relationships with shippers, manufacturers, and freight forwarders.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers, ensuring regular communication and customer satisfaction.
  • Continuously communicate with prospective and existing clients using email, phone, and in-person meetings.
  • Support daily tasks such as follow-ups, lead generation, and CRM data entry to track progress against sales goals.
  • Manage and send marketing materials to potential customers and coordinate marketing efforts with the corporate marketing team.
  • Promote Eagle Logistics services on social media and other marketing platforms to increase brand awareness and attract new business.
  • Represent Eagle Logistics' full range of domestic, international, and LCL freight services and consult clients on the best solutions for their needs.
  • Achieve or exceed revenue goals through self-directed territory management and consistent sales performance.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent related experience.
  • 3 years or more of domestic and/or third-party logistics (3PL) selling experience, with proven success in the Puerto Rico market.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong logistics operations knowledge and experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand ocean transportation products and customer needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Ability to listen actively and respond to questions with complete and accurate answers.
  • Track record of building and growing a sales territory independently and delivering measurable revenue results.

Traits & Growth Opportunities

At Eagle Logistics Systems, we seek individuals who are highly motivated, self-disciplined, and resilient. You should be comfortable working autonomously, setting goals, and driving results. We value the following traits:

  • Entrepreneurial mindset: ability to learn, adapt, and develop innovative strategies to grow your territory.
  • Customer-centric approach: willingness to listen, empathize, and build long-lasting relationships.
  • Critical thinking and negotiation skills: ability to craft creative solutions that benefit clients and the company.
  • Persistence and resilience: comfortable with rejection and determined to find new opportunities.

Successful Account Executives at Eagle Logistics Systems often advance into leadership roles as they demonstrate a history of building territories and delivering revenue growth. We offer professional development resources, performance incentives, and a clear path for career progression.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive base salary and commission structure commensurate with experience and performance. In addition, Eagle Logistics Systems provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development and continuing education.
