Job description

Your tasks
  • Create and implement logistic concepts for door modules, seats, window regulators, drive systems and/or latch assemblies that apply to JIT/JIS and batch production from acquisition through to start of production
  • Generate concept alternatives in cooperation with quality, manufacturing, plant planning, IT, and the facilities / headquarters in consideration of customer specifications
  • Develop supplier packaging concepts to ensure quality, cost and material flow expectations are met
  • Collaborate with purchasing in making supplier decisions based on the Landed Cost method
  • Facilitate Value Stream Mapping workshops considering Lean methods and total cost of ownership
  • Collaborate with customers to design, evaluate and implement finished good packaging and freight concepts
  • Calculate and budget costs required for launching programs and design changes
  • Expect limited travel to local production locations within 1 hour of Auburn Hills. Travel is dependent on phase of the project.

Your Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Logistics Engineering from a four year college or university or equivalent experience and/or training.
  • Minimum three to five years of experience in a logistics department planning launching program.
  • Special skills and knowledge: Microsoft Office software package (Outlook, Excel, Word), SAP Advanced (MM, WM, QM, PP), Logistics planning tools, Material flow
  • Fluent in English
