Logistics Manager
Company: Blue Star Glass
Location: Dallas, Texas
Department: Operations / Supply Chain
Reports To: President
Position Summary
Blue Star Glass is seeking an experienced and results-driven Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize our Dallas, Texas facility.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in manufacturing or building materials logistics, and the ability to manage fast-paced distribution operations with a focus on safety, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
  • Owner of all shipping, logistics and in-house inventory management
  • Coordinate deliveries with customers and jobsites
  • Coordinate national and international freight traffic and costs with third party brokers
  • Request, review and evaluate vendor quotes to provide the company with strategic savings with third party brokers
  • Maintain accurate tracking and schedules of freight/shipping schedules
  • Maintain internal systems for shipping, loading, and invoicing
  • Work with production to ensure scheduled material is on target for delivery dates
  • Other department duties as required by Management

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • 3-5 years' experience in a purchasing/logistics position preferred
    Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction materials, glass, or industrial distribution strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Strong command of the English language
  • Must be HIGHLY organized. Able to organize import schedules and work through time constraints
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
