QPS Employment Group is seeking a Logistics Manager for our client in Spring, TX (77389). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced logistics professional to lead and develop transportation and logistics operations within a fast-growing, made-to-order manufacturing environment. This is a hands‑on leadership position responsible for managing the complete transportation process from customer order through final delivery while helping build a more efficient, technology‑driven logistics operation. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), LTL, flatbed transportation, and asset-based carriers, along with the ability to develop long‑term transportation strategies while managing daily logistics requirements.

Logistics Manager Responsibilities:
  • Manage LTL, FTL, flatbed, and 53' flatbed transportation
  • Develop and manage relationships with asset-based carriers and strategic transportation providers
  • Own and optimize the company's Transportation Management System (TMS)
  • Manage shipment planning, carrier selection, tendering, tracking, Bills of Lading (BOLs), Proofs of Delivery (PODs), and freight documentation
  • Coordinate transportation requirements between Sales, Customer Service, Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, and Finance teams
  • Ensure customer delivery requirements and shipping information are confirmed before shipment
  • Negotiate freight rates and manage transportation costs
  • Establish preferred carrier programs and routing guides
  • Develop and maintain a Logistics Dashboard tracking on-time delivery, freight costs, carrier performance, claims, and accessorial charges
  • Reduce expedited freight and improve overall transportation efficiency
  • Increase shipment visibility through TMS, ERP, GPS, and carrier technologies
  • Establish standardized logistics procedures supporting ISO 9001 requirements
  • Identify and eliminate unnecessary manual processes through automation
  • Develop carrier performance metrics and hold transportation providers accountable
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the order-to-delivery process
Requirements for Logistics Manager:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of logistics or transportation management experience
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
  • Proven experience managing LTL transportation
  • Proven experience managing flatbed transportation
  • Experience working directly with asset-based carriers
  • Experience with 53' flatbed equipment
  • Experience negotiating freight rates and managing transportation costs
  • Strong understanding of Bills of Lading (BOLs), Proofs of Delivery (PODs), freight claims, and accessorial charges
  • Advanced Excel, reporting, and data analysis skills
  • Strong communication, leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration abilities
