We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Manager to oversee and grow a dedicated portfolio of shipper accounts. This is a fast‑paced, customer‑facing role with heavy carrier interaction and immediate ownership of key accounts. The ideal candidate is an expert in LTL and FTL freight, thrives in a dynamic environment, and brings strong operational discipline to every shipment they touch.


The Logistics Manager at Global Logistics, Inc. is a full-time role based in Plano, TX. We are not offering relocation and this is not a remote role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day‑to‑day logistics operations for assigned shipper accounts, ensuring on‑time, cost‑effective freight movement.
  • Coordinate and dispatch LTL and FTL shipments, including rate procurement, carrier selection, and appointment scheduling.
  • Issue Bills of Lading (BOLs), shipping documentation, and ensure accuracy across all load details.
  • Negotiate pricing, capacity, and service levels with carriers across multiple modes.
  • Maintain deep working knowledge of TMS platforms; build loads, track shipments, update statuses, and manage exceptions.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact for shipment updates, issue resolution, and service performance.
  • Monitor carrier performance and escalate service failures when necessary.
  • Utilize spreadsheets, reporting tools, and AI‑driven solutions to improve workflow efficiency and visibility.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support pricing, customer onboarding, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong proficiency in LTL and FTL freight operations
  • Hands‑on experience dispatching shipments and managing carrier relationships
  • Ability to negotiate rates and capacity confidently
  • Deep knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
  • Strong understanding of freight documentation, including BOLs, accessorials, and appointment requirements
  • Excellent communication skills with both customers and carriers
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑volume logistics environment
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data organization)
  • Comfortable using modern tools, including AI‑powered workflow tools


Preferred/Bonus Experience

  • Hazmat shipping knowledge
  • International freight experience (air/ocean)
  • Parcel shipping experience (UPS, FedEx, USPS)
  • DAT load board experience
  • LTL carrier pricing or rate‑building experience
  • Experience managing a book of shipper accounts
  • Experience using HubSpot for customer management
  • Experience using Front for communication workflows
