Job description

The Logistics Dispatch will be directly responsible for the routing and tracking of Connexion's fleet/messengers efficiently and safely while maintaining superior customer service levels. This a fast paced, high volume distribution operation and the position encompasses various warehouse functions.

In this role you will:

  • Logistics work including routing and coordination with deliveries and pick ups

  • Develop the most cost effective efficient routes while capturing service requirements

  • Continuous monitoring of routes and collaboration with logistics team to gain new efficiencies

  • Proactively look for opportunities to reduce logistics cost

  • Creates daily manifests and matches invoices

  • Interface with customers, vendors and internal contacts

  • Translate internal requests into tasks which are completed timely

  • Create, update and maintain spreadsheets and logs

  • Perform various duties associated with the receiving, placement, picking, packing, loading and unloading of product

  • UPS outbound shipments

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

  • Assists in other departments as needed

What you bring to the table:

  • High School Diploma, some College preferred

  • General knowledge of warehouse operations with experience in logistics

  • Strong sense of urgency and time organization; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

  • Detail oriented

  • Experience with routing software and geographic knowledge of the Chicago and surrounding areas

  • Problem-solving ability including independent thinking and decision making

  • Clear and concise written and oral communication abilities

  • Computer competency including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, UPS, internet

  • Ability to occasionally lift heavy packages up to 50 lbs.

  • General knowledge of warehouse operations and a background involving logistical training and experience preferred

  • Strong sense of time organization and sense of urgency, comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

  • Detail oriented

  • Experience with routing software and geographic knowledge of the Chicago and surrounding areas

  • Problem solving ability including independent thinking and decision making

  • Good communication; email, phone and in person

  • Willing to take on any project

  • Computer competency including Microsoft Office Suite, Email, UPS, internet

  • Able to heavy packages up to 50 lbs. and work at a desk for typical 8 hour shift

Shift and Hours: Monday - Friday; 7 am to 3 pm.

Compensation Details: The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $24.00 per hour depending on experience.
