Job description

Lead the Team That Keeps Everything Moving

Quality Services Moving is seeking a highly motivated Operations Manager to oversee the daily execution of our moving, transportation, and logistics operations. This position is responsible for coordinating people, equipment, schedules, and customer commitments to ensure every day runs safely, efficiently, and profitably.

This is not a desk-only management position. We're looking for a hands-on leader who can balance planning with execution, support field teams when challenges arise, and maintain control of a fast-moving operation where no two days are exactly alike.

The right candidate understands how to organize resources, motivate teams, solve problems quickly, and keep operations on track while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Running Daily Operations

  • Oversee the successful execution of daily moving and transportation schedules
  • Coordinate workforce assignments, vehicle utilization, and job coverage across multiple crews
  • Monitor operational activity throughout the day and adjust plans as needed
  • Ensure crews are properly staffed, equipped, and prepared for each assignment
  • Balance labor, equipment, and scheduling needs to maximize productivity

Leading People

  • Supervise drivers, crew leaders, movers, dispatch personnel, and support staff
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and accountability to operational team members
  • Address employee concerns, performance issues, and operational challenges
  • Promote a culture of professionalism, teamwork, safety, and customer service
  • Assist with employee training and development initiatives

Driving Operational Performance

  • Track daily productivity, efficiency, and service quality
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions that improve operational effectiveness
  • Maintain high standards for communication, execution, and customer satisfaction
  • Support company goals through effective planning, resource management, and problem-solving
  • Ensure operational processes are followed consistently

Managing Customer Commitments

  • Serve as a key point of contact for escalated operational and service-related issues
  • Work closely with customers and internal departments to resolve concerns
  • Ensure customer expectations are communicated clearly and delivered upon
  • Support a positive customer experience from scheduling through completion

What Success Looks Like

Successful candidates are able to remain calm under pressure, make sound decisions quickly, and effectively lead teams through changing priorities and unexpected challenges.

You will thrive in this role if you:

  • Enjoy leading people and building strong teams
  • Take ownership of results and hold others accountable
  • Communicate clearly and confidently
  • Stay organized while managing multiple moving parts
  • Make decisions quickly and effectively
  • Continuously look for ways to improve operations

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in operations, logistics, dispatch, transportation, moving, fleet management, or related leadership roles
  • Strong leadership and employee management skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience coordinating schedules, personnel, and operational resources
  • Comfortable making decisions independently
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to report for an early morning start time and work overtime when needed

Preferred Experience

  • Household goods or moving industry experience
  • Logistics, trucking, transportation, or service operations management
  • High-volume workforce scheduling and dispatch coordination
  • Experience leading field-based employees and customer-facing teams

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Advancement opportunities within a growing company
  • Supportive leadership team and collaborative work environment

Why Quality Services Moving?

Our success is built on the people who make things happen every day. As an Operations Manager, you'll have the opportunity to make a direct impact on customer satisfaction, team performance, and company growth while building a rewarding career with an established and growing organization.
