Job description

The Second Shift Logistics Dispatcher plays a critical role in coordinating and managing logistics operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of shipments. Working within a medium-sized team of 6 to 15 members and reporting directly to the Logistics Manager, this position involves frequent interaction with drivers and reliance on specialized dispatch software Sylectus.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate routes for second shift logistics operations
  • Plan optimal routes to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines
  • Coordinate loads to ensure balanced distribution and compliance with capacity limits
  • Maintain frequent communication with drivers to provide updates and resolve issues
  • Track shipments throughout the delivery process to ensure timely arrival
  • Resolve problems proactively to mitigate delays and disruptions
  • Handle documentation related to shipments and dispatch activities
  • Perform accurate data entry to support logistics tracking and reporting
