What You Will Contribute:
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for executing inbound and outbound transportation activities, ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods. This role supports multi-site operations.
Job Duties:
  • Generate and prepare freight documentation (Packing list, Bill of Ladings, etc)
  • Assist in the development of systems, procedures and work instructions for the distribution department.
  • Evaluate and select optimal freight options through rate shopping across carriers to balance cost, service, and delivery timelines.
  • Schedule, consolidate, and coordinate shipments across multiple locations including domestic and international freight.
  • Partner with Customer Service, Credit, and Planning to ensure order readiness and validate customer site capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with hazardous materials regulations, including lithium battery handling, labeling, and documentation accuracy.
  • Perform CTPAT Tier III security procedures including seal verification, 7-point inspections, and documentation checks.
  • Conduct regular dock audits to verify shipment accuracy and escalate discrepancies.
  • Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) to manage shipment planning and execution.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Support SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) performance objectives.
  • Report security or compliance incidents in accordance with company protocols.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Degree/GED required; Associate's Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in shipping/receiving or a related field desired

Qualifications:
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials shipping regulations.
  • Experience using transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Intermediate understanding of logistics concepts, planning tools, and software (MRP, WMS, TMS) required
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Preferred: DGD/IATA certification (air required; ocean preferred).
  • Preferred: Forklift certification.
  • Preferred: Warehouse operations experience (racking, material handling equipment).
