Job description

The Logistics Intern supports the Supply Chain Logistics team in executing and optimizing transportation and distribution operations. This internship provides hands-on experience with real-time logistics coordination, shipment tracking, cost analysis, and vendor communication within a fast-paced distribution environment. This role offers exposure to cross-functional operations and provides an opportunity to develop analytical, problem-solving, and operational skills while supporting initiatives that drive efficiency across the Batteries Plus supply chain.
What You'll Do
  • Coordinate and monitor shipments, including tracking orders and communicating with carriers and vendors.
  • Assist with data entry and generate routine reports related to shipping and delivery performance.
  • Maintain accurate tracking records to support operational visibility and reporting.
  • Monitor logistics workflows to ensure alignment with company standards and compliance requirements.
  • Support resolution of delivery delays, inventory discrepancies, and vendor-related issues.
  • Evaluate carrier performance and help identify opportunities to improve delivery speed, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Research potential cost savings and service improvement opportunities with logistics partners.
  • Audit freight invoices for accuracy and assist with reconciliation activities.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve visibility to logistics performance metrics through reporting and dashboards.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for operational and process improvements.
  • Assist in preparing summaries, reports, and presentations for leadership.
  • Support strategic and tactical logistics projects as assigned.
  • Complete internship project work and present outcomes and recommendations to leadership.

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic proficiency with Google Workspace or similar productivity tools preferred.
  • Interest in transportation, distribution operations, or supply chain management.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced operational environment.
