Job description

Logistics Intern

Position Summary

Vertiv is seeking a Logistics Intern to support the Transportation team with data analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives across the Americas region. This internship provides hands-on experience in transportation operations, logistics analytics, carrier management, and supply chain processes.

The intern will work closely with Logistics, Procurement, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to help improve operations, visibility, data quality, and transportation performance. This role is ideal for a student interested in supply chain management, logistics, data analytics, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collecting, analyzing, and consolidating logistics data, including freight spend, carrier performance, and service metrics.
  • Help develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to support transportation performance management.
  • Partner with Logistics, Procurement, Operations, Master Data, and other stakeholders on process improvement and reporting activities.
  • Support carrier performance monitoring and reporting related to delivery, transit times, capacity, and transportation costs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on operational efficiency and process standardization.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Present findings and recommendations to logistics team members and stakeholders as appropriate.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a willingness to learn logistics and transportation operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Coursework or project experience involving data analysis, logistics, supply chain, or operations management.
  • Familiarity with process mapping tools such as Microsoft Visio or Lucidchart.
  • Ability to analyze data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • English language proficiency required; Spanish language skills are a plus.

Education

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, Data Science/Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Rising junior, senior, or graduate student preferred.
