General Summary

The BIMManager II leads Building Information Modeling efforts for large, complex electrical construction and design projects. This role manages modeling standards, oversees BIM personnel, coordinates multidisciplinary project execution, and supports project teams through advanced modeling workflows, clash detection, constructability reviews, and digital delivery initiatives.
The position serves as both a technical expert and team leader, ensuring project models meet company standards, client requirements, and project execution goals.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project BIM Leadership

  • Lead BIM execution for medium-to-large, complex electrical projects.
  • Develop and manage project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
  • Oversee model setup, model health, and projectstandardscompliance.
  • Support constructability analysis using federated models.
  • Direct clash detection and issue resolution workflows.

Technical Management

  • Supervise advanced modeling of:
  • Power distribution systems
  • Lighting systems
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Low-voltage/technology systems
  • Raceway andconduitsystems
  • Equipment layouts and prefabrication models
  • Review LOD development (300-500) requirements.
  • Manage Revit templates, families, standards, and content libraries.
  • Support model-based quantity takeoffs and prefabrication workflows.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and mentor Tier I-III BIM Specialists/Coordinators.
  • Assign modeling resources and manage workload distribution.
  • Conduct model QA/QC reviews.
  • Support performance evaluations and technical development plans.
  • Assistin interviewing and onboarding BIM personnel.

Coordination & Collaboration

  • Lead multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
  • Interface with engineers, project managers, field teams, and trade partners.
  • Resolve complex coordination conflicts involving spatial and constructability issues.
  • Support field installation teams with model-driven solutions.

Standards & Innovation

  • Maintain company BIM standards and best practices.
  • Supportdevelopmentof automation tools, workflows, and process improvements.
  • Contribute to implementation of:
  • Revit enhancements
  • Navisworks coordination standards
  • Dynamo scripting initiatives
  • Prefabrication/VDC innovation efforts

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Associate'sorBachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Drafting, or related field preferred.

Experience

  • 7-10+ years BIM/VDC experience.
  • 3+ years in BIM leadership or supervisory role.
  • Experience managing large-scale electrical models and coordination.
