Job description

The Cash Reporting Associate works for the Accounting and Finance Division at our headquarters in Santa Fe Springs, California. This role is responsible for daily cash positioning, bank reconciliations, cash flow tracking, and generating accurate financial reporting to support corporate liquidity and accounting compliance.

Essential Job Functions

  • Daily Cash Reporting: Monitor and manage daily bank transactions, cash positions, and liquidity across multiple corporate accounts and regional branches.
  • Cash Reconciliations: Perform daily bank and ledger reconciliations, ensuring accurate matching of incoming cash receipts, electronic funds transfers (EFT), wire transfers, and lockbox deposits.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow reports, variance analyses, and forecasting summaries for senior finance leadership
  • Error Investigation & Resolution: Identify, research, and resolve banking discrepancies, unapplied cash items, and payment processing errors in coordination with the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) teams.

Experience/ Training/ Education

  • 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting, treasury, cash management, or financial reporting (experience in distribution, food service, or wholesale industries is a plus).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and financial modeling).
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and banking platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related business field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting automation, and dashboard development.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, including Oracle, SAP, and JD Edwards, as well as financial reporting and business intelligence tools.
  • Proven ability to identify operational inefficiencies and optimize processes through the automation of accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with expertise in evaluating complex financial data, identifying root causes of discrepancies, and providing actionable business recommendations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance in financial reporting, reconciliations, data analysis, and account management activities.

Working conditions: This is a part-time position, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This is a fully onsite position, and candidates will be expected to report to the office every day.  Standard corporate office environment.  Must be able to manage tight deadlines and perform effectively under pressure when schedules change and operational challenges arise.
