You will provide direct nursing care, teach and counsel clients and caregivers, and advocate for services that support optimal health. Home Care nursing offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, support clients through changing health needs, and contribute to a coordinated, interdisciplinary model of community health. Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:

Home Care Case Management experience within the last 2 years. Knowledge of and skills in applying Home Care Nursing Practice Standards. Knowledge of Continuing Care Health Service Standards. Case management experience. Family assessment skills. Effective oral and written communication. Working independently and as member of a team. Working with people in a health care environment with professionalism and respect. Positive approach and good listening skills in dealing with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity. Understanding of principles of Palliative Care. Knowledge of Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) Program. Ability to perform all assigned tasks and direct clinical care including but not limited to: Constant adjustment of position (sit/stand) throughout the shift. Physical exertion including bending/walking/sitting or standing for long periods of time. Keyboarding/moussing documentations for prolonged periods of time. Ability to perform all duties in accordance with related legislation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in the community sector will be considered. Recent geriatric clinical experience.
