Job Title:Registered Nurse (RN)

Department: Long Term Care

Location: DeMay- 100 Sunset Drive Newark, NY 14513

Hours Per Week: Per Diem - As Needed

Schedule: Per Diem, Days/Evenings/Nights

SUMMARY

As a Long-Term Care Registered Nurse, you will provide high quality and compassionate care to patients, residents and families in your unit while supporting continuity of care across all shifts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patient Care & Service. Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; perform various treatment procedures; provide physical, educational and emotional support to patients, friends and families; supervise assigned team members

  • Planning & Communication. Develop and document individualized care plans customized for each patient's unique needs, with support from the interdisciplinary health team as needed; maintain effective communication to convey patient health status, treatment plans and progress

  • Team Management. Assume responsibility and accountability on the unit and for the patient care team, work collaboratively with others

  • Compliance. Adhere to organizational policies, procedures and protocols, including policies governing safety, medication administration and documentation, complete required number of continuing education credits per year and mandatory in-services and health screens

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse license in New York State.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
